DANIEL MOREIRA e RITA CASTRO NEVES - Artistas portugueses que vivem e trabalham no Porto, com percursos expositivos independentes, trabalham desde 2015 em colaboração. Daniel Moreira é licenciado em Arquitectura, iniciando em 2000 um percurso multidisciplinar entre a arquitectura, a ilustração e as artes plásticas. Rita Castro Neves, após terminar o Curso Avançado de Fotografia do Ar. Co em Lisboa e o Master in Fine Art da Slade School of Fine Art em Londres, inicia uma atividade artística regular, a prática docente (actualmente na Faculdade de Belas Arte do Porto) e de curadoria (sobretudo na área da performance). Com LAKING, que realizaram em 2015 a convite do espaço artístico finlandês Oksasenkatu 11, iniciam um projecto longo a propósito da representação da paisagem, em que refletem com o desenho, a fotografia e o vídeo, de forma instalada, sobre colaboração artística, diferentes técnicas e culturas artísticas, território, escala e percurso. Apresentaram os seus projectos na Galeria Bang Bang (Lisboa, 2016), Galeria Oitavo (Porto, 2017), Fundação José Rodrigues (Porto, 2017), Sputenik The Window (Porto, 2017), Museu da Imagem / Encontros da Imagem de Braga (Braga, 2017), Colégio das Artes (Coimbra, 2017) e na Galeria Bolsa de Arte (São Paulo, 2017). Em Agosto de 2017 estiveram em residência artística na Residência Paulo Reis do Ateliê Fidalga, São Paulo, apresentando no final uma exposição colectiva, e em Outubro de 2017 realizaram uma viagem de estudo ao Japão com uma Bolsa de Estudo de Curta Duração da Fundação Oriente. Preparam exposições individuais a realizar no Museu Geológico e na Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida, Lisboa, e uma exposição colectiva no Paço Imperial, Rio de Janeiro (2018).
DANIEL MOREIRA and RITA CASTRO NEVES - Portuguese artists who live and work in Oporto. Although with autonomous exhibition paths they have been working collaboratively since 2015. Daniel Moreira holds a degree in Architecture. In 2000 he began a multidisciplinary path between architecture, illustration and fine arts. Rita Castro Neves, after finishing the Advanced Photography Course at Ar.Co, Lisbon, and the Master in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Arts, London, started a regular artistic activity, a teaching practice (currently at the Oporto Faculty of Fine Arts) and also curatorial work (mainly in the area of performance). With LAKING, presented in 2015 at the invitation of the Finnish art space Oksasenkatu 11, they began a long project concerning landscape representation, in which they reflect, through drawing, photography and video, in the form of installation, on different artistic techiques and cultures, territory, scale and pathway. They presented their projects at the Bang Bang gallery (Lisbon, 2016), Oitavo gallery (Oporto, 2017), José Rodrigues Foundation (Oporto, 2017), Sputenik The Window (Oporto, 2017), Image Museum / Braga Image Meetings (Braga, 2017), Colégio das Artes (Coimbra, 2017) and at the Bolsa de Arte gallery (São Paulo, 2017). In August 2017 they were in artistic residence at the Paulo Reis Residence of Ateliê Fidalga, São Paulo, where they presented a collective exhibition. In the following month they made a study trip to Japan, under a Orient Foundation Short-Study Scholarship. They are preparing individual exhibitions to be held at the Geological Museum and the Medeiros and Almeida House-Museum, Lisbon, as well as a collective exhibition at Paço Imperial, Rio de Janeiro (2018).
